A 31-year-old man was arrested in the city of Mar del Plata for being involved in a case of gender violence against his partner. The arrest occurred after a seven-year-old boy went to the 14th Police Station to ask for help for his mother, who was being assaulted by the accused.
Police personnel went to the house, located in the La Peregrina neighborhood, where the woman confirmed that her partner became violent when he consumed alcohol and assaulted her by pulling her hair. Despite the man's initial resistance, he was eventually subdued and arrested. He was subsequently placed under the jurisdiction of prosecutor Eduardo Layus of the Flagrancy UFI, who ordered his transfer to Unit 44 of Batán.
In the words of the police authorities: "The suspect resisted arrest, but was ultimately subdued thanks to the intervention of the personnel. The affected woman has received the necessary assistance and measures have been taken to ensure her safety."
